Small Animal Requirements for Movement and Travel

Because of several concerns about security and traceability, many state animal health officials have changed their requirements and no longer accept USDA APHIS Form 7001 for interstate movement of animals.

With more states planning to reject 7001 forms in the near future, veterinarians and animal health practitioners need to prepare for regulatory changes and continue to educate their clients about compliant travel with pets.

In this webinar, Dr. Valerie Ragan explains the current regulations around animal movement, what changes may be on the horizon, and what animal health professionals can do to prepare.

How to Help Clients Prepare for Safe Air Cargo Transport of Pets

Many veterinarians experience frustration and confusion with clients’ air travel, unsure of the plane ride experience and how to help clients prepare for the various requirements. This webinar will provide insights into air transport of animals, provide suggestions to prepare pets for travel via cargo, and demonstrate how digital health certificates (CVIs) can ease the process. Risks and stressors associated with transport will be addressed, as well as the potential airline and state entry requirements involved in the journey.

Watch this webinar (recorded 3/25/2020) to learn about:

  1. Exactly what a companion animal experiences when transported by air cargo
  2. How veterinarians can help identify and mitigate conditions that predispose the animals to illness, injury, or escape during transport
  3. How to collaborate with animal owners to ensure they do their part in preparing their animals for safe air transport

Animal Health Officials Introduce New Extended Equine Health Certificate Program

With horses moving more frequently than any other species, state animal health officials recognize a need for a national program that allows equine owners to move with ease, while ensuring animal safety and traceability.

Starting on January 1, 2019, veterinarians and owners have a new Extended Equine Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (EECVI) solution, developed by GlobalVetLink in collaboration with state veterinarians, for fast, easy travel with horses. EECVIs function the same as regular health certificates, but allow horse owners to move for up to six months.

Join us to learn more about the changes coming to the program, what is being done to help ease the process of frequent travel, and see how EECVIs work.
